Eureka has been a well-known name of vacuum for years. Most often remembered for "The Boss," a line of vacuum marketed in the 1980s, Eureka joined with Electrolux in the 1970s (officially changing their name to Electrolux Home Care Products North America in 2004) and also produces the Sanitaire brand and Beam.

Fred Wardell founded the Eureka company in the late 1900s, and though the types of products the company has produced over the year has varied (at one point, the Eureka product line included an electric car), Eureka has always been committed to providing quality floor cleaning products at a reasonable price in over forty-four countries. The Eureka brand of products have low to middle price points but have a solid reputation of performance, durability and features. Eureka has over 130 different models of vacuum cleaner ranging from simple handheld vacuums and uprights to more extensive central vacuums and wet-dry vacuums.

Many Eureka models of vacuum include a HEPA filter that captures pollen and other allergens as small as 0.3 microns. Other models use micro filtration to ensure allergens do not return to the air. Eureka offers consumers lightweight vacuums, canister vacuums, upright vacuums, bagged and bagless vacuums, extractors, stick vacuums, battery operated vacuums, wet-dry vacuums, and central vacuums.
